ANSAS CITY – Marian women’s soccer goalkeeper Catherine Schmidt has been named the NAIA National Defender of the Week as announced by the NAIA Tuesday afternoon.

Schmidt was outstanding for Marian last week, allowing only one goal in 220 minutes of action. She made 12 saves in two games, including a season-high of 10 in a draw against No. 2 Spring Arbor. Her play helped the Knights secure the second seed in the Crossroads League Tournament.

Marian will host Grace in the Crossroads League Tournament Wednesday at 7 p.m.
