INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan University baseball lost their Crossroads League opener on Monday 3-2 at Marian (Ind.) in Indianapolis. The Knights earned the walk-off victory on a hit by pitch in the bottom of the 9th inning.

LEADING EARLY
Indiana Wesleyan gained the early 2-0 advantage in the 2nd inning. With the bases loaded, Nick Coy was hit by a pitch for the 1-0 lead. It was not the last hit by pitch for an RBI on Monday. On the next at bat, Tye Thixon scored on a passed ball for the 2-0 Wildcat lead.

TIED GAME
The Knights hit sac flies in each the 5th and 7th innings to tie the score at 2-2. That is what the score remained until the 9th inning.

WALK-OFF FOR MARIAN
Kyle Hall was on the mound for the Wildcats and he hit Matt Turk to load the bases with two outs. The next batter was Baylee Adams and he was hit by a pitch to force home the winning run for the Knights.

NEXT FOR THE WILDCATS
Indiana Wesleyan and Marian complete their series on Tuesday with a doubleheader at Marian. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
