Marian’s Imani Guy named WBCA NAIA Player of the Year

Atlanta, Ga. – Imani Guy of Marian University is the 2021 WBCA NAIA Player of the Year and headlines the 2021 WBCA NAIA Coaches’ All-America team, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced Monday afternoon. Guy is the first player in program history to earn the prestigious honor, and is fourth player in program history to be named a two-time NAIA All-American.

Guy, a 6-foot, 4-inch senior forward from Columbus, Indiana, is the Crossroads League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year and was named to both the All-Crossroads League First Team and All-CL Defensive Team. She led the Knights to a 27-6 record and an appearance in the Round of 16 of the 2021 NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship. Guy averaged 14.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Her 72 blocks is fifth highest in the nation. Guy also earned the Crossroads League Player of the Week twice in 2020-21, and led Marian in scoring on the year.

Guy was named an Honorable Mention NAIA All-American last season, earning her first career First Team All-American honor as a senior.
