It proved to be another average performance as I went 19-7 (73 percent) last week. This leaves my overall record at 198-54, which keeps me at 79 percent.

TUESDAY

Adams (18-1) at Mishawaka (13-3): The No. 6 (Class 4A) Eagles posted a 52-39 win over Mishawaka in the 2020 Class 4A Michigan City sectional quarterfinals. Lynn King managed 13 points in Adams’ 73-60 win over Penn. Maddux Yohe scored 17 points in the Cavemen’s 61-51 win over NorthWood. Matt’s pick: Adams 73, Mishawaka 64.

Concord (7-9) at Clay (4-16): The Colonials downed Concord, 47-34, a year ago. Gavin Smith tallied 11 points for the Minutemen in a 53-34 loss to Northridge. James Johnson registered seven points for Clay in a 62-52 loss to Elkhart. Matt’s pick: Concord 54, Clay 51.

Jimtown (4-15) at Bethany Christian (9-10): The Jimmies rolled to a 53-31 win over Bethany Christian last year. Braxton Rice mustered four points in Jimtown’s 89-48 loss to Glenn. Tyson Chupp recorded 23 points in the Bruins’ 60-53 win over Elkhart Christian. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 52, Bethany Christian 46.

Saint Joseph (13-4, 6-3 NIC) at Bremen (8-9, 3-6 NIC): The Lions dropped a 78-34 decision to No. 9 (Class 3A) Saint Joseph in the 2019-20 campaign. Cole Hatkevich accounted for eight points in the Indians’ 58-52 win over NorthWood. Zach Czarnecki had just one point in Bremen’s 81-23 loss to Riley. Matt’s pick: Saint Joseph 69. Bremen 48.

WEDNESDAY

Goshen (7-12) at LaPorte (4-15): The Slicers edged Goshen, 59-55, last season. Quinn Bechtel added nine points in the RedHawks’ 57-43 win over Wawasee. Grant Ott-Large ended with 17 points in LaPorte’s 65-53 loss to Merrillville. Matt’s pick: Goshen 58, LaPorte 55.

Knox (8-9) at Glenn (15-4): The Falcons soared to a 48-40 win over Knox a season ago. Cade Short’s 25 points lifted the Redskins to a 59-31 win over Oregon-Davis. Jackson Perry finished with two points for Glenn against Jimtown. Matt’s pick: Glenn 65, Knox 52.

Michigan City (12-7) at Riley (14-5): The Wolves claimed a 66-63 win against Riley in their previous contest. Evan Bush racked up 20 points in Michigan City’s 63-62 win over Lake Central. Nate Macht accounted for two points in the Wildcats’ 78-54 win over Penn. Matt’s pick: Riley 74, Michigan City 69.

Tippecanoe Valley (6-12) at NorthWood (9-8): The Panthers clawed their way to a 61-40 win over Tippecanoe Valley last season. Brendyn Stump racked up 11 points in the Vikings’ 53-17 win over North Miami, Chaz Yoder chipped in five points for NorthWood against Saint Joseph. Matt’s pick: NorthWood 51, Tippecanoe Valley 38.

Westview (14-4) at Wawasee (8-10): The Warriors cruised to a 67-50 win over Wawasee a season ago. Ben Byrkett came up with eight points in Westview’s 82-43 win against Prairie Heights. Grant Brooks mustered two points for the Warriors against Goshen. Matt’s pick: Westview 63, Wawasee 50.

THURSDAY

Northridge (14-4) at Lakeland (8-8): The Lakers suffered a 74-36 loss to Northridge last year. Sam Smith accounted for 17 points in Northridge’s 44-40 win at Valparaiso. Brayden Bontrager’s 17 points powered Lakeland to a 62-57 win over Goshen. Matt’s pick: Northridge 49, Lakeland 41.

Westville (10-7) at Mishawaka (13-4): Alec Hannon netted 15 points in the Blackhawks’ 68-46 win over Calumet Christian. Arthur Jones added five points for the Cavemen in a 62-52 loss to Adams. Matt’s pick: Mishawaka 72, Westville 54.

FRIDAY

Clay (4-17, 1-9 NIC) at New Prairie (14-6, 5-4 NIC): The Cougars slipped past Clay, 57-55, in their previous meeting. Rylan McBride came up with 11 points for New Prairie in a 60-53 win over Mishawaka. Robert Allen came up with 19 points in the Colonials’ 58-49 loss to Concord. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 58. Clay 46.

East Noble (7-12) at Wawasee (8-11): The Knights crowned Wawasee, 53-36, a year ago. Chris Hood netted eight points in East Noble’s 54-42 loss to New Haven. Keaton Dukes poured in a career-high 34 points in the Warriors’ 60-51 loss to Westview. Matt’s pick: Wawasee 43, East Noble 40.

Elkhart Christian (7-10) at NorthWood (10-8): The Panthers clawed past Elkhart Christian, 59-48, last season. Andrew Stevens had four points in the Eagles’ 47-45 loss to Wawasee. Ian Raasch contributed 14 points in NorthWood’s 76-39 win over Tippecanoe Valley. Matt’s pick: NorthWood 57, Elkhart Christian 51.

Glenn (16-4, 6-4 NIC) at Bremen (8-10, 3-7 NIC): The Falcons soared to a 70-30 win over Bremen last year. Brycen Hannah racked up 26 points in Glenn’s 71-38 win over Knox. Dawson Hickman mustered only two points in the Lions’ 76-29 loss to Saint Joseph. Matt’s pick: Glenn 74, Bremen 54.

Goshen (7-13) at Westview (15-4): The RedHawks suffered a 54-45 loss to Westview a season ago. Blak Wiess had four points in Goshen’s 54-53 loss to LaPorte. Brady Yoder accounted for 25 points for the Warriors against Wawasee. Matt’s pick: Westview 61, Goshen 53.

Marian (15-2. 8-2 NIC) at Jimtown (4-16, 1-9 NIC): The No. 3 (Class 3A) Knights claimed the 2020 Class 3A Jimtown Sectional crown with a 46-23 win over Jimtown. Kaleo Kakaila’s six points lifted Marian to a 66-60 win over Saint Joseph. Luke Bottom added two points in the Jimmies’ 57-49 loss to Bethany Christian. Matt’s pick: Marian 76, Jimtown 52.

Penn (8-9, 5-5 NIC) at Elkhart (10-10, 4-6 NIC): The Kingsmen captured the 1972 Elkhart Sectional title with a 58-57 win over Elkhart. Jayden Doster’s three points helped Penn to a 61-58 win over Washington. D’Arjon Lewis recorded five points in the Lions’ 62-52 win over Clay. Matt’s pick: Penn 62, Elkhart 59.

Riley (15-5, 8-2 NIC) at Adams (19-1, 9-0 NIC): The Eagles flew past Riley, 61-55, during the 2019-20 campaign. Blake Wesley tallied a career-best 46 points in the Wildcats’ 88-52 win over Michigan City, Tommy Snyder chipped in six points for Adams against Mishawaka. Matt’s pick: Adams 87, Riley 83.

Washington (4-17, 2-8 NIC) at Saint Joseph (14-4, 7-3 NIC): The Indians dropped a 67-60 decision to Washington last season. Ty’shaun Grundy’s two points were not enough for the Panthers in their 47-40 loss to Illiana Christian. Declan Walsh added four points for Saint Joseph against Bremen. Matt’s pick: Saint Joseph 70, Washington 55.

SATURDAY

Concord (8-9) at LaVille (12-7): The Lancers posted a 45-36 win over Concord last year. Zaven Koltookian paved the way with 15 points for the Minutemen against Clay. Booby Good poured in 25 points in LaVille’s 54-45 win over Caston. Matt’s pick: Concord 55, LaVille 54.

Marian (16-2) at Warren Central (16-6): Dar’e’on Thornton had two points in the Knights’ 54-35 win over New Prairie. Chandler Jackson finished with 13 points in the No. 6 (Class 4A) Warriors’ 58-47 win over Fort Wayne Northrop. Matt’s pick: Warren Central 80, Marian 71.

Northridge (15-4) at Columbia City (7-11): The Eagles were on the short end of 68-59 decision to Northridge a season ago. Clay Stoltzfus recorded eight points in the Raiders’ 65-62 overtime win at Lakeland. Mason Baker registered 15 points in Columbia City’s 50-43 win over West Noble. Matt’s pick: Northridge 64, Columbia City 54.

Riley (15-6) at Mishawaka (14-4): The Wildcats earned a 59-48 win over Mishawaka a year ago. Klay Coleman was held to two points in Riley’s 63-40 loss to Adams. Brendan Williams tallied 12 points for the Cavemen in their 79-50 win over Westville. Matt’s pick: Riley 68, Mishawaka 65.

Warsaw (14-7) at Washington (4-15): The Tigers came away with a 60-50 win over Washington during the 2004-05 campaign. Graydon Brath notched four points in Warsaw’s 76-32 win over Wabash. Jason Dockery scored four points for the Panthers in an 85-36 loss to Saint Joseph. Matt’s pick: Warsaw 60, Washington 48.
