Progress continued as I went 12-2 (86 percent) last week. My overall record is now 60-18, which has me at 77 percent for the season.

NORTHERN INDIANA CONFERENCE

Adams (3-2, 0-2 NIC) at New Prairie (3-2, 1-1 NIC): The Cougars clawed past Adams, 55-14, last season. Chuck Worsham had an interception and a 92-yard touchdown run in the Eagles’ 35-14 loss to Marian. Kole Staley came up with an interception in New Prairie’s 45-20 win over Saint Joseph. Matt’s pick: New Prairie 42, Adams 13.

Bremen (3-2, 1-1 NIC) at Glenn (3-2, 2-0 NIC): The Falcons soared to a 35-12 win against Bremen a year ago. Blake Dingus raced for 136 yards and a touchdown in the Lions’ 14-13 loss to Jimtown. Nathan Creed tossed a touchdown pass and ran for another tally in Glenn’s 45-13 loss to Knox. Matt’s pick: Bremen 20, Glenn 12.

Clay (1-4, 0-2 NIC) at Jimtown (2-2, 1-1 NIC): The Jimmies cruised to a 52-6 win over Clay a season ago. James Johnson scampered for 50 yards in the Colonials’ 35-6 loss to Washington. Ethan DeVol rambled for 101 yards for Jimtown against Bremen. Matt’s pick: Jimtown 49, Clay 7.

Elkhart (4-0, 1-0 NIC) at Saint Joseph (2-3, 1-1 NIC): The Indians dropped a 13-9 decision to No. 6 (Class 6A) Elkhart during the 1971 campaign. Cameron Wiltfong tossed for 258 yards and three scores in the Lions’ 20-19 win over Penn. Kyle Fortener hauled in a 35-yard touchdown pass for Saint Joseph against New Prairie. Matt’s pick: Elkhart 31, Saint Joseph 18.

Marian (5-0, 2-0 NIC) at Penn (2-3, 0-1 NIC): The Kingsmen rolled to a 55-28 win over No. 2 (Class 3A) Marian in the 2012 season. Michael Murphy caught a touchdown pass and ran for another score for the Knights against Adams. Alec Hardrict ran 43 yards for a touchdown for Penn against Elkhart. Matt’s pick: Penn 23, Marian 21.

Riley (2-3, 1-1 NIC) at Washington (1-4, 1-1 NIC) (TCU School Field): The Panthers captured a 32-14 win over Riley last year. Conor Kingston converted a pair of field goals in the Wildcats’ 34-0 win at Gary West. Ty’Shaun Grundy had a 40-yard scoring run for Washington against Clay. Matt’s pick: Riley 33, Washington 32.

NORTHERN LAKES CONFERENCE

Concord (3-1, 2-1 NLC) at Mishawaka (1-3, 1-1 NLC): The Minutemen posted a 34-14 win against Mishawaka in the 2013 Class 5A regional final. Yordy Amaya-Diaz booted two 29-yard field goals in Concord’s 33-0 win over Goshen. Justin Fisher accounted for 19 rushes for 157 yards with three touchdowns in the Cavemen’s 39-30 win at Plymouth. Matt’s pick: Concord 29, Mishawaka 24.

Goshen (1-1, 0-1 NLC) at Warsaw (4-1, 3-0 NLC): The Tigers roared past Goshen, 48-10, a season ago. Colin Turner threw for 83 yards for the RedHawks against Concord. Julius Jones rushed 12 times for 117 yards in Warsaw’s 27-14 win at Northridge. Matt’s pick: Warsaw 41, Goshen 8.

Northridge (3-1, 2-1 NLC) at NorthWood (2-1, 2-0 NLC): The Panthers claimed a 34-14 win over Northridge last year. Dom Crowder found the end zone twice for the Raiders against Warsaw. Wes Yoder had a seven-yard touchdown reception in NorthWood’s 39-0 win against Wawasee. Matt’s pick: NorthWood 32, Northridge 28.

Wawasee (2-3, 0-3 NLC) at Plymouth (0-5, 0-3 NLC): The Rockies blanked Wawasee, 35-0, a year ago. Parker Young had 131 yards through the air for the Warriors against NorthWood. Jake Reichard ran for 167 yards and three touchdowns for Plymouth against Mishawaka. Matt’s pick: Plymouth 26, Wawasee 16.

DUNELAND CONFERENCE

Lake Central (1-4. 0-3 DAC) at Michigan City (2-1, 0-1 DAC): The Indians slipped by No. 10 (Class 5A) Michigan City, 13-7, in their previous meeting. Max Creachbaum rambled for 56 yards in Lake Central’s 28-16 loss to LaPorte. Jonathon Flemings ran for two touchdowns in the Wolves’ 21-13 loss to Chesterton. Matt’s pick: Michigan City 35, Lake Central 10.

Merrillville (4-0, 2-0 DAC) at LaPorte (1-4, 1-2 DAC): The No. 3 (Class 6A) Pirates downed LaPorte, 21-0, a year ago. Angel Nelson went 8-of-12 for 303 yards and three touchdowns in Merrillville’s 58-19 win over Portage. R.J. Anglin passed for 146 yards and two scores for the Slicers against Lake Central. Matt’s pick: Merrillville 41, LaPorte 12.

Portage (2-3, 1-2 DAC) at Chesterton (2-3. 2-1 DAC): The Trojans marched past Portage, 26-7, last year. Colton Wilkie caught 11 passes for 133 yards for the Indians against Crown Point. Chase McLaughlin returned an interception 55 yards for a score for Chesterton against Valparaiso. Matt’s pick: Chesterton 36, Portage 19.
