LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University men’s basketball coach R-Jay Barsh has announced the addition of an exhibition game at Florida Gulf Coast to the 2018-19 schedule.
The Fire will head to Fort Myers on Thursday, November 8 for a 7 p.m. game with FGCU.
The Eagles are coming off of a 23-12 season, advancing to the ASun Championship Game, and qualifying for the NIT tournament.
“Playing against a mid-major power and NCAA Tournament team is a great challenge for our program,” said Barsh. “Coach (Michael) Fly is known for his recruiting and culture development, so we know the game will help us compete later in conference play.”
Last season, FGCU played two Sun Conference teams at Alico Arena, defeating both Webber International and Florida Memorial.
Following its game with SEU, the Eagles will head to Lansing, Mich. To face Michigan State on November 11.
The Fire will start their 2018-19 season on Tuesday, November 6 with an exhibition against the Martinique National Team.
