KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Southeastern University was among the 32 men’s basketball team selected to the NAIA Division II National Championship, taking place at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Fire earned its second trip to the national tournament by winning The Sun Conference Tournament championship on Tuesday.
In its first game, SEU will face Warner Pacific on Thursday, March 8 at 11:15 a.m. Eastern Time.
The Fire are the No. 6 seed in the Cramer Bracket of eight teams. Warner Pacific checks in with a 23-9 record, and is the No. 3 seed in the bracket. This marks the 11th appearance for the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season runner-up.
This year’s field consists of 22 automatic berths and 10 at-large spots. Automatic qualification is given to conference regular-season champions, regular-season runners-up, tournament champions or tournament runners-up depending on the league. At-large teams were determined using the final regular-season Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released Wednesday.
