PLANTATION, Fla.—During a wild day of play, which saw a 10-shot comeback and six players sign sub-70 rounds, the Fire finished fifth at The Sun Conference Championship, held at Plantation Preserve.

As a team, SEU was 1-under with a score of 287 on the final day, which was tied for the third-lowest round of the day. The Fire finished with a 54-hole team score of 887, 17 shots behind Johnson & Wales. USCB scored a 9-under 279 as a team in the final round to sneak by Keiser by one shot for the team title.

Carlos Ardila landed on the All-Conference team with a 13th-place finish with a score of 219. The senior scored a 75 in the final round after shooting even-par 72s in the first two. Santiago Zubiate also matched Ardila’s total score, carding the low round of the tournament on the roster with a 67 on Tuesday. Zubiate birdied five holes on the day.

Landry Miller, who was named the conference’s Champion of Character Award recipient finished 17th, carding a one-under 71 in the final round, and was two shots behind Ardila and Zubiate.

Charles Soucinek and David Ramirez each had their best rounds of the tournament on Tuesday, finishing with a 74 and 77, respectively.

The Fire will await to see if it receives an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship, held May 15-18 at TPC Deere Run.
