LAKELAND, Fla.— In their initial contest of the 2018 season, the Fire men’s tennis team was defeated by Keiser by a score of 9-0.
Southeastern fought hard against the third-ranked team in the country and was able to force tiebreaks in the top two matchups, with Lucca Marcheschi and Felipe Barbosa both taking their ranked opponents to an extra game in the opening set.
Despite the promising first sets, the Fire were overpowered by the Seahawks as Keiser took all nine points on the day.
SEU will be back on the courts when they take on Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach on February 1.
