Michigan and Minnesota Earn Big Ten Weekly Softball Awards

Wolverines’ Faith Canfield and Alex Storako, and Gophers’ Natalie DenHartog and Amber Fiser receive Big Ten’s top honors this week

Player of the Week

Faith Canfield, Michigan

2B – Sr. – Garden Grove, Calif. – Pacifica – Major: Sport Management

Posted a 1.000 batting average, 1.000 on-base percentage and 2.000 slugging percentage with two home runs, seven RBI and 10 runs scored last week as the nationally-ranked Wolverines won four games, all against Big Ten opponents

Reached base in all 15 of her plate appearances last week, collecting eight hits and walking four times, while also being hit by a pitch three times

Four of her eight hits went for extra bases, including a grand slam on April 23 against Michigan State and a leadoff home run in the first inning on April 27 against Penn State

Earns her third career Player of the Week honor (first since March 5, 2018)
