Wolverines’ Meghan Beaubien, Gophers’ Maddie Houlihan and Wildcats’ Danielle Williams receive Big Ten’s top honors this week
Player of the Week
Maddie Houlihan, Minnesota
OF – Sr. – Plymouth, Minn. – Benilde-St. Margaret’s – Major: Business and Marketing Education
Posted a .600 batting average, .625 on-base percentage and .867 slugging percentage last week with a home run, six RBI and six runs scored as the nationally-ranked Golden Gophers swept their Big Ten opening series at Maryland
Had multi-hit outings in all three games of the Maryland series, including three hits in the opener on March 22, as well as Sunday’s finale
Drove in five runs in the series opener at Maryland, highlighted by a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning
A 2017-18 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (2016-17 and 2017-18)
Earns her third career Player of the Week honor

Went 3-0 with a save and a 0.00 ERA in 20.2 innings in the circle last week, registering three complete-game shutouts with 31 strikeouts and one walk as the No. 25 Wolverines won all four games, including a sweep of their Big Ten opening series against Nebraska
Tossed a pair of one-hitters against the Cornhuskers, coming two outs shy of a perfect game in the series finale on Sunday
Added a four-hitter in a midweek win over Western Michigan on March 19, striking out a season-high 13 batters
Earns her fifth career Pitcher of the Week honor

Gad a two-hit shutout in the series opener on March 22 and a one-hitter in the finale on Sunday, striking out eight in the latter contest
Also hit her first career home run in Sunday’s win and scored a run in each game of the series
Earns her third career Freshman of the Week honor
