Michigan, Minnesota and Notre Dame Earn Three Stars

Schierhorn named first star after backstopping Gophers to a weekend sweep of Michigan State

 

First Star

Eric Schierhorn, Minnesota
G – Jr. – Anchorage, Ala.

  • Registered 46 saves on 47 shots in 120 minutes of play over the weekend as the Gophers swept Michigan State and extended their winning streak to four games
    • Led the league in save percentage (.979) and goals-against average (0.50) on the weekend
    • Earned his 50th career victory with the Gophers and 10th career shutout in Saturday’s 4-0 win
    • Claims his ninth career weekly award and second of the season
    • Last Minnesota honoree: Eric Schierhorn on Oct. 31, 2017

 

Second Star

Cale Morris, Notre Dame

G – So. – Larkspur, Colo.

  • Backstopped the Fighting Irish to a six-point weekend at No. 16/- Ohio State, making 62 saves for a .954 save percentage
  • Made 23 saves on Friday and allowed just one goal in 60 minutes of action
  • Made 39 saves, including 22 in the third period, in the Fighting Irish’s 3-2 win on Saturday
    • Earns his first career weekly award
    • Last Notre Dame honoree: Jake Evans (Third Star) on Oct. 31, 2017

 

Third Star

Cooper Marody, Michigan

F – Jr. – Brighton. Mich.

  • Registered five points, including a pair of goals, to help Michigan split the weekend against Ferris State
    • Netted the game-winning goal and registered assists on the Wolverines’ first and fourth goals in their 7-2 victory on Thursday
    • Recorded a goal and an assist on Friday to extend his point streak to four games, tallying three goals and eight assists over that span with four straight multi-point efforts
    • Earns his second career weekly award and first of the season
    • Last Michigan honoree: Jake Slaker (Second Star) on Oct. 24, 2017
