Wolverines’ Alex Storako, Gophers’ Amber Fiser and Scarlet Knights’ Anyssa Iliopoulos receive final Big Ten weekly honors for 2019

Player of the Week

Anyssa Iliopoulos, Rutgers

OF – Jr. – Norridge, Ill. – Trinity – Major: Exercise Science

Batted .429 with a .467 on-base percentage and 1.286 slugging percentage last week, hitting four home runs with nine RBI and five runs scored as Rutgers won three of four games to secure its first winning season since 2015

Had home runs in all three games of a Big Ten weekend series with Michigan State, including two home runs and four RBI as part of a 3-for-3 performance in the opener of a May 4 doubleheader

Added a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings in the nightcap of the May 4 doubleheader against MSU

Named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2017-18

Earns her first career Player of the Week honor

Went 2-1 with a 0.42 in 16.2 innings in the circle last weekend, registering two complete games and striking out 25 batters as Minnesota took two of three games against then-conference leader Northwestern

Tossed a one-hit shutout in Sunday’s regular-season finale, recording eight strikeouts and not allowing a hit until the seventh inning

Earned win in May 4 run-rule decision over the Wildcats, striking out seven in 2.2 innings of relief, one day after a complete-game two-hitter when she fanned 10 only to lose 1-0 on a seventh-inning wild pitch

Chosen as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honoree in 2017-18

Claims her 10th career Pitcher of the Week award (fourth-most in Big Ten history) and sixth this season (ties conference record for the most Pitcher of the Week honors in one season — Michigan’s Marissa Young and Jordan Taylor were selected six times in 2002 and 2011, respectively)
