Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State Standouts Honored as Three Stars

Penn State’s Barratt earns first star after recording back-to-back multi-point games in weekend split against No. 16/- Michigan

 

First Star

Evan Barratt, Penn State

F – So. – Bristol, Pa.

 

  • Led the nation last weekend with four goals, while adding an assist, helping the Nittany Lions split the weekend against No. 16/- Michigan
  • Netted the opening goal, while adding an assist in Friday’s game
  • Registered his first career hat trick and the seventh in program history during a 7-6 victory on Saturday
  • Tied for the national points lead with 19 through the first 11 games of the season
  • Claims his first career weekly award
  • Last Penn State honorees: Nikita Pavlychev (First Star) and Alex Limoges (Second Star) on Nov. 13, 2018

 

Second Star

Jake Slaker, Michigan

  • Recorded four points on two goals and two assists to help the Wolverines split the weekend at No. 5/5 Penn State
  • Netted a pair of goals in Michigan’s come-from-behind win on Friday, including the game-winner, and the primary assist on the first goal in the third period to start the comeback
  • Tallied a helper in Saturday’s contest
  • The Academic All-Big Ten honoree claims his third career weekly award and first since Oct. 24, 2017 (Second Star)

  • Backstopped the Buckeyes to a 4-0 shutout against Wisconsin, his school-record third consecutive shutout as a starter
  • Turned aside eight shots in the first, 10 in the second and 14 in the third, with 12 saves coming on the penalty kill
  • Tied for the NCAA lead with a career-high three shutouts this season
  • Earns his seventh career weekly award and first since Nov. 5, 2018 (Second Star)
