Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State Standouts Honored as Three Stars

Michigan State’s Khodorenko earns first star after recording hat trick against Ferris State

 

First Star

Patrick Khodorenko, Michigan State

  • Tied for the Big Ten lead last weekend with four points on three goals and an assist, helping the Spartans split the weekend against Ferris State
  • Recorded his first career hat trick and the first hat trick by a Spartan since March 2015 in a 5-3 win over Ferris State on Friday
  • All three goals came on the power play, moving Michigan State to fifth place in the nation in power-play percentage at 34.6
  • The Academic All-Big Ten honoree claims his first career weekly award

  • Backstopped the Buckeyes to a 1-0 shutout at No. 5/5 Notre Dame to open Big Ten play last Friday
  • Turned aside 23 shots on the evening, including a pair of power-play saves, to preserve the 1-0 lead Ohio State took at 6:59 of the first period
  • Recorded the only shutout in the Big Ten last weekend and the third of his collegiate career
  • Earns his sixth career weekly award and first since Feb. 20, 2018 (Third Star)

  • Posted a .968 save percentage and a 1.01 goals-against average as the Fighting Irish went 1-1-0 against No. 7/9 Ohio State to open Big Ten play
  • Made 22 saves on Friday, including 10 in the second period
  • Turned aside 38 of 39 shots faced on Saturday to lead the Irish to a 2-1 victory
  • Earns his ninth career weekly award and his first since Feb. 6, 2018 (First Star)
