Minnesota and Wisconsin Earn Three Stars Honors

Caufield earns First Star accolades after posting a nation-leading seven points to help the Badgers sweep Michigan State 


First Star

Cole Caufield, Wisconsin

  • Led the nation with seven points last week, including four goals in a series sweep of Michigan State
  • Recorded a pair of goals and an assist in Friday’s 6-0 victory, including the game winner, before following up with two goals and two assists in Saturday’s finale
  • Extended his point streak to 10 games (nine goals, 10 assists) and his goal streak to five contests (seven goals)
  • Earns his third career weekly award and his second of the season
  • Last Wisconsin honoree: Cameron Rowe (Third Star) on Jan. 19, 2021
  • Last Wisconsin First Star: Cole Caufield on Nov. 25, 2020

  • Tied for second nationally with two goals and four assists last week as No. 13/13 Wisconsin swept Michigan State
  • Notched four points on two goals and two assists in Friday’s win before recording a pair of helpers on Saturday to seal the sweep
  • Now has a six-game point streak (three goals, eight assists) and five game multi-point streak
  • Claims his first career weekly honor

Third Star 

Jackson LaCombe, Minnesota

  • Tallied four points on two shorthanded goals and two assists from the blue line as the Gophers swept Ohio State on the road
  • Matched his career high with three points on one shorthanded goal and two assists in Minnesota’s 5-2 win on Saturday after scoring a shorthanded goal in Friday’s 5-1 win
  • Currently riding a career-long four-game point streak and has points in six of the last seven games
  • Claims his first career weekly honor
  • Last Minnesota honorees: Blake McLaughlin (First Star) and Brannon McManus (Second Star) on Jan. 26, 2021
