Miras Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week

 

Valparaiso University redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Nacho Miras (Ubeda, Spain / Nuestras Semora del Pilar) was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on Monday.

 

Miras earned MVP honors at this weekend’s Chicago Classic, making 12 saves over two matches to help the Crusaders to the tournament championship. He notched four saves on Friday in Valpo’s 2-1 win over Loyola, a team ranked 18th nationally by Top Drawer Soccer entering the week.

 

Miras continued his strong play on Sunday against DePaul, making a career-high eight saves as the Crusaders improved to 2-1-1 on the season with a 2-1 triumph. Miras has registered 24 saves in four matches in his first season as Valpo’s starter.

 

The Crusaders will look to uphold their recent success on Saturday as they visit SIU Edwardsville at 7 p.m. CT. Links to live stats and video are available on ValpoAthletics.com.
