Missouri S&T, Truman State Earn Weekly GLVC Football Honors


INDIANAPOLIS – Missouri S&T senior quarterback Tyler Swart and senior return specialist Roderick Chapman, as well as Truman State University junior defensive end Sam Reeves, have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Team Result: 59-21 win vs. William Jewell

Completed 16-of-21 passes for 353 yards and three touchdowns, all of which came in the first half

His 353 passing yards is the most ever in a half by a passer in GLVC history and third-most in a half in S&T history

His 264.53 quarterback rating is his best this season and sixth-best in GLVC history; he now has the GLVC’s sixth and seventh-best marks in league history (both recorded this season)

Led the Miners to scores on seven of eight possessions in the first half of the play as S&T built a 45-7 lead at the intermission

S&T finished with 565 yards of total offense (432 at halftime) – its third game with more than 500 offensive yards this season

Earns his sixth career Offensive Player of the Week award (11/16/15, 10/17/16, 10/30/17, 9/3/18, 10/1/18)

Team Result: 20-13 win vs. Lincoln


Notched 2.5 tackles for loss to become Truman’s career leader with 42.5 over three years

Recorded two of the team’s five sacks in the win, which leaves him within two of the 1987 career record of 32 held by Ernie Myerson

Guided a Bulldog unit that limited Lincoln to just 31 total yards in the first half, 43 through three quarters, and 213 for the game, after allowing 153 over three long plays in the fourth quarter

Earns his second career Defensive Player of the Week award (11/7/16)

Had two punt returns for 48 yards, including a 40-yard return that set up a Miner touchdown

Recorded three kickoff returns for 103 yards, which included a 56-yard return

Averaged 30.2 yards on his five returns in the game

Earns his third career Special Teams Player of the Week awards (10/16/17, 9/17/18)
