MU, SXU, USF earn Midwest League honors

With three victories over Mideast League rivals, three teams share this week’s MSFA Midwest League Players of the Week honors.

Offensive Player of the Week
Tristan Polk, Marian
Sr., QB, Palmyra, Ind. (Floyd Central)

  • Threw for 261 yards and ran for 63 more in #19 Marian’s win over #5 Indiana Wesleyan
  • Responsible for four TDs, including the game-winning 29-yard run
  • Wins his second MSFA Player of the Week award this season

Defensive Player of the Week
Terry Elias, Jr., Saint Xavier
Sr., LB, Monee, Ill. (Crete-Monee)

  • Finished with 13 tackles in the Cougars’ 31-10 win over Lawrence Tech
  • Recorded three tackles for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble in the win
  • Earns his first MSFA Player of the Week award this season, and the third of his career

Special Teams Player of the Week
Adrian Guerrero, St. Francis (Ill.)
So., K/P, Lombard, Ill. (Willowbrook)

  • Collected 16 points, including a career-long 42-yard field goal in the Saints’ win over Madonna
  • Kicked and recovered an onside kick for the Saints
  • Earns his first MSFA Player of the Week honor this season, and the second of his career
