GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Student-Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the top athletes from the week of May 5-11. Men’s track and field senior Jordan Downs earned NCCAA National Men’s Field Student-Athlete of the Week.
Jordan Downs, a senior from Merrillville, Indiana, broke a school and meet record in the long jump at the 2019 NCCAA Men’s Track & Field National Championship. Downs reached a mark of 7.75m to win the event. He also won the pole vault with a height of 4.75m. Downs also earned All-American status in the 200m and 4 x 100m relay. Downs was named the Male Athlete of the Meet, as the Pilots won their second straight team championship.
It is the 28th NCCAA National Student-Athlete of the Week honor for the Bethel Pilots in 2018-19 and the 21st weekly accolade for Downs this season.
