NEWS AND NOTES

  • Trevion Crews recorded his eighth game of the season with at least 20 points and 7 rebounds, going for team-highs of 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
  • Jared DeHart scored a career-high 13 points on a perfect 5-for-5 from the field.
  • The Pilots have won 6 straight over Grace—the longest winning streak in the 133-game series since the Pilots won 8 straight from the March 17, 2007 NCCAA Championship game to head coach Ryne Lightfoot‘s final game against Grace as a senior on January 23, 2010.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH LIGHTFOOT

  • “Even though we didn’t finish plays with defensive rebounds, we made enough winning plays in the second half to come away with the win. We did a lot of really good things defensively, holding them to 41% from the floor, but really got beat up on the boards today.
  • “We had great bench minutes from guys like Jared, Dom, and Juwan that provided us a nice lift.
  • “Winning games in this league is tough. Winning road games is about getting back on the bus with a win. And that’s what we did today.”

UP NEXT

  • The Pilots return to the Wiekamp Athletic Center on Wednesday, December 5 for a matchup against No. 6 Mt. Vernon Nazarene. Tip-off for the men’s game is set for 8:00 p.m. The Cougars have won three straight against the Pilots, including the last two in Mishawaka.
