COSTA MESA, Calif. – No. 7 Vanguard flexed their muscle Wednesday, as Indiana Wesleyan women’s soccer fell 5-0 in their season opener. The Lions netted three goals in the first half and never looked back dominating the shot chart 31-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Known for their high-pressure, Vanguard netted two goals in the first 8 minutes while also pouring on five shots.
- Vanguard dominated the corners, sending 12 into play while IWU mustered two.
SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
- Today did not quite go the way that we intended but I think these are good learning experiences for us. We definitely got to see some clear areas that we need to improve upon so it gives us a good plan of attack for moving forward. I am proud of the girls not giving up, so we will look to learn and bounce back from this one quickly!
NEXT TIME ON THE PITCH
- IWU will wrap up their California road trip Friday, taking on Hope International.
