Mishawaka, Ind. — The NAIA #9 ranked Bethel Pilots scored a huge top 10 matchup win Saturday at Morey Field, defeating 10th ranked Grace College by a score of 2-1.

It was a quiet but well-played first half for both teams with the Pilots outshooting Grace 4-3.

Bethel’s Finn Popescu saved all three Lancer shots to keep things scoreless at the intermission.

The Pilots finally lit up the scoreboard with Luan Bressy’s goal in the 64th minute, a turnaround shot in the box. The goal by Bressy was his 13th of the season

Three minutes later, Tim Noeding crashed the net and scored his third goal of the season off the pass from Eduardo Da Silva.

The Pilots would let up an own goal after attempting to knock away a cross in the 88th minute, but it wasn’t enough for the Lancers to force a tie as Bethel held on for the victory.

Bethel’s win streak reaches 11 games as they improve their overall record to 13-1-1 and 6-0-0 in the Crossroads League. The Lancers fall to 8-1-5 overall and 3-2-3 in league play.

SCORING SUMMARY

’66| Tim Noeding (BU) assisted by Eduardo Da Silva
’88| Bethel Own Goal

NEXT TIME OUT
