Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin Earn Three Stars

Morris named first star after backstopping Fighting Irish to a weekend sweep of Minnesota

 

First Star

Cale Morris, Notre Dame

  • Backstopped the Fighting Irish to a weekend sweep of No. 6/6 Minnesota, making 84 saves for a .977 save percentage as the Fighting Irish extended their nation-leading winning streak to nine games
  • Turned aside all 44 shots faced on Friday for his third shutout in his last five contests
  • Stopped 40 of 42 shots faced in Saturday’s 5-2 victory, with Minnesota’s two goals coming on the power play
  • Earns his fourth career weekly award and third in as many weeks

  • Assisted the game-tying goal in the Buckeyes’ 3-2 victory on Friday
  • Scored Saturday’s eventual gamewinner just 49 seconds after the Wolverines had tied the game, before adding two assists on the Buckeyes’ insurance goals
  • Earns his third career weekly award and second of the season

  • Tied for the Big Ten lead in points (four) last weekend, guiding the Badgers to a series split with Mercyhurst
  • Scored at 5:27 in the third period to give the Badgers a 2-1 lead in the eventual loss
  • Posted his second-career three-point game on Saturday, scoring to break a 1-1 tie at 18:34 in the second period before adding a pair of assists
  • Earns his third career weekly award and first of the season
