Offensive Outbreak Helps Taylor Score 103 in Big Win

Mishawaka, Ind. – Scoring came easy and often on Wednesday, as the Trojans grabbed a comfortable win on the road at Bethel. The TU squad knocked down 103 points to avenge its loss to the Pilots earlier this season.
Taylor (16-4, 7-2 CL) dominated from start to finish, utilizing a high-octane offense to swallow the Pilots (10-11, 2-7 CL) by a margin of 103-64. Wednesday’s win marked TU’s eighth-consecutive win dating back to December 1.
The Trojans posted its highest scoring output of the season, while shooting 60.0 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. The team was also perfect from the free throw line, converting on all 11 foul shot attempts.
After a 7-8 start to the contest, Taylor took control with a 20-3 run in the final six and a half minutes of the initial quarter.
The onslaught continued in the second period with 31 points from the visiting squad. A 14-3 start pushed the TU advantage to 27 early in the second stanza.
Throughout the second half, the Trojans stuck to their strengths, knocking down buckets and extending their edge to a final 39-point margin.
TU won the battle on the boards, outrebounding its opponent by 17 in the contest. Kendall Bradbury led the charge on the glass, snagging 10 rebounds. Aubrey Wright and Abby Buchs followed quickly with nine and eight boards, respectively.
Bradbury, Buchs, Wright and Becca Buchs each pulled in double-digit points on Wednesday. Senior Bradbury shot 61.9 percent from the planks, scoring a team-high 28 points to go along with four assists and three steals.
Becca Buchs put together a career-night on Wednesday picking up personal-bests with 27 points, 10 field goals and six triples. Buchs piled it on in the fourth quarter, draining nine points on three treys in the first four minutes of the period.
Nearing a triple-double, Wright filled the stat sheet with 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while going a perfect four-for-four from the field.
The 11th-ranked Trojans will stay on the road on Saturday, facing the Grace Lancers (10-11, 4-5 CL) at 1:00 pm.
