Ohio State Earns Outright Big Ten Women’s Soccer Title

Buckeyes clinch their first outright conference championship and will be the No. 1 seed for the Big Ten Tournament

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Ohio State women’s soccer team clinched the Big Ten Conference women’s soccer title outright on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Indiana in Columbus. It’s the Buckeyes’ first outright Big Ten championship and their second overall after they shared the 2010 title with Penn State.

Sammy Edwards scored twice in the opening seven minutes for Ohio State (14-3-1, 9-2-0 Big Ten) to secure Wednesday’s win over Indiana. The Buckeyes finished Big Ten play with 27 points and are assured of the top seed for the Big Ten Tournament, which kicks off Sunday with quarterfinal matches on the campuses of the top four seeds. The semifinals and championship match will be played at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, and will be televised live on BTN.
