WINONA LAKE, Ind. — The Bethel Pilots Softball team (7-16, 3-7) splits with Grace College (6-10, 2-6) in a couple of Crossroads League games.

GAME 1

It was a shoot-out in Winona Lake for game one, as each team scored over ten runs. Grace started the scoring in the first as they brought in two runs.

Bethel responded with a run in the second and two in the third to take the lead.

In the 8th inning, Bethel scores two runs, which are matched by Grace’s two scores in the bottom of the inning.

With a 12-12 tie at the top of the 10th inning, Emily Kidwell hit a ground ball and reached first on an error by Grace, which brought in two runs.

Bethel was able to close out the game, but not without a scare. Grace scored one run in the bottom of the 10th, but the Pilots closed it out and won 14-13.

Ryann Norris pitched ten innings with one walk, six strikeouts, and 18 hits.

GAME 2

Bethel scored early, as Meghan Younger doubled to center field, bringing a run in, followed by an Averie Markel homerun to lead 3-0 over the Lancers.

Grace fought back and took control of the game. They scored ten unanswered runs and defeated the Pilots 10-3.
