Softball Earns Five-Inning No-Hitter Over Trinity Christian in 8-0 Win

HAMMOND, Ind. – After four hitless innings thrown by Ashley Bravo, senior Mia Stevens kept the no-hitter alive as she completed the fifth en route to an 8-0 victory over Trinity Christian in five innings, Wednesday.

Bravo (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) earned her first win of the season after not allowing a hit in four innings of work while striking out a pair.

Senior Shailen Johnson (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) started off the scoring in the bottom of the second inning when she drove in Taylor Mendenhall (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg.) on a double to left center.

Bravo added to their total with another double that drove in Johnson followed by an RBI-double from Zoee Anderson (Lafayette, Ind./Lafayette Jefferson) who put the Pride ahead, 3-0.

Kalyn Learnard (Fairmount, Ill./Catlin) capped off the 4-run inning with a sacrifice fly that drove in Amanda Noblett (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) and gave the Pride a 4-0 advantage.

Noblett started the 3-run inning that won the game for the Pride with an RBI-double that scored Sabryna Stanley (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Central).

Noblett would score later in the inning and so would Kara Alosio (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) to finish the game and give the Pride the 8-0 win.

PNW returns to action Saturday, March 23 when they travel to Kenosha, Wis. to take on Wisconsin Parkside in its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games of the season.
