PNW Women’s Soccer Drops Road Contest to Michigan Tech​
HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Purdue University Northwest women’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Michigan Tech Friday afternoon.
The Huskies notched a pair of early goals over the Black and Gold, with Jesse Jacobusse scoring in the 7th minute and 14th minute to put Michigan Tech ahead 2-0.
Both teams would remain scoreless for the rest of the half, as the Huskies went to the locker room with a 2-0 advantage.
Grace Shaw would add on one more goal for Michigan Tech in the 62nd minute which was the final goal as the match as the Huskies went on to win, 3-0.
Kelley Sharp (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) started in goal for the Pride and recorded a pair of saves in 45 minutes of action while Halle Stork (Stanwood, Mich./Big Rapids) notched six saves in the second half.
Senior Shelby Ross (Marquette, Mich./Columbus North) and Sydney Hanson (Alma, Mich./Alma Senior) each tallied a team-high two shots with both of Hanson’s being shots on goal.
PNW continues it’s road trip Sunday, Oct. 14 when they travel to Marquette, Mich. for a GLIAC contest against Northern Michigan at 11 am (CST).
