PNW Women’s Soccer Earns First Win of the Season, 2-0, Over Lawrence Tech

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. –  The Purdue University Northwest women’s soccer team earned its first win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Lawrence Tech University 2-0.

Shelby Ross (Marquette, Mich./Columbus North) notched her first goal of the season to give the Black and Gold an early 1-0 lead in the 15th minute.

After nearly 70 minutes of scoreless action, the Pride tacked on an insurance goal late in the match, after a goal by Brook Switzer (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) from Kiana Chandler (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) gave the Pride a 2-0 advantage.

PNW would shut down the Blue Devils down the stretch and pick up its first win of the year.

Freshman Halle Stork (Stanwood, Mich./Big Rapids) earned her first win in goal recording a clean sheet and four total saves.

The Black and Gold kick off their home schedule with a match against Illinois-Springfield Thursday afternoon at 2:30 pm (CST) at Dowling Park.
