RV Taylor Secures Fifth-Consecutive Win
UPLAND, Ind. – A 2-0 final score came in TU’s favor on Wednesday, as the Trojans logged their fifth-straight victory. Erin Teevans and Ali Clodgo each recorded a goal, as the team defeated the Georgetown Tigers.
RV Taylor (7-1) dominated the possession of the ball throughout the match, finishing with 17 shots compared to just six from Georgetown (3-4). Beginning at the end of the first half, TU held the Tigers without a shot for 39-straight minutes.
Just under 17 minutes in the contest, the Purple and Gold struck first with a combination of great passes. Jourdan Lehman led it off with a through ball to a sprinting Kate Kortenhoeven. The sophomore utilized one touch with the left foot to cross it to Teevans who placed it high and under the crossbar. The Barlett, Illinois native posted her fourth goal of the season, while increasing her career total to 16.
Clodgo continued the scoring late in the first half, blowing by the defense and beating the goalie to tie Teevans and Riley Massey with four goals in 2019. The junior Morgan Orme delivered the ball to Clodgo for her first assist of the season.
Freshman AC Hardy picked up her first career start on Wednesday, logging significant minutes in the midfield for TU.
The Trojans will be looking for another win in their four-game homestand next Wednesday at 7:00 pm, taking on No. 8 Spring Arbor (4-3-1) in their Crossroads League opener.
