Saints Men’s Soccer advances to CCAC tourney

Whiting, Ind. The Holy Cross College men’s soccer team traveled to Calumet College of St. Joseph this afternoon for their last Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season match. With CCAC tournament hopes on the line, the Saints defeated the Crimson Wave 4 -1. With the win men’s soccer improves to 6-12 overall and 5-6 in the CCAC, while CCSJ falls to 1-17 and 1-10 in CCAC.

The Saints found themselves down 1-0 at halftime, but would score four unanswered goals in the second half to win 4-1.

Lewis Tomlinson got the start in goal and recorded three saves in 90 minutes of action. Luis Correa-Cabral scored two goals in the match, Alex Yanes and Caleb Haire each recorded one goal. Elliot Sked added two assists, and Bruno Souza and Caleb Haire had one assist each.

With the win, the men’s soccer team qualifies for the CCAC conference tournament. Stay tuned to find out who and where the Saints will play in the tournament.
