PNW’s Serna Knocks in Game Winner in 2OT Victory over Ashland

ASHLAND, Ohio – For the second straight match, the Purdue University Northwest men’s soccer team used some late game heroics to record a 1-0, 2OT victory over Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Ashland University Friday night.

Just a minute in to the second overtime period, Enrique Serna (Majadahonda, Spain/Colegio san Jaime) ripped a free kick from just outside the 18 – yard box on the right side and beat the keeper over the top to knock in the game winner.

Serna, Daniel Freedman (New Castle, England/Monkseaton Academy) and Matt Bahena (Alsip, Ill./Eisenhower) each tallied a pair of shots to lead the Pride’s offensive efforts.
