KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Southeastern University baseball team will make its fourth NAIA Opening Round appearance in program history next week.
For the second year in a row, the Fire are seeded first in their five-team bracket. SEU will head to Kingsport, Tenn.
Southeastern will take on either fifth-seeded Trinity Christian or fourth-seeded Clarke in its first game on Monday, May 14 at 6 p.m. The game will take place at Hunter Wright Stadium, home of the Kingsport Mets of the Appalachian League.
The Fire will also be joined by third-seeded Madonna, and second-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan.
SEU twice in its three previous Opening Round appearances, the Fire advanced to the final game of the tournament, and will be in search of its first World Series appearance in program history.
The winner of the double-elimination bracket will qualify for the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.
