KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Ten of Southeastern University’s teams were honored by the NAIA as Scholar-Teams for their academic performance during the 2018-19 school year.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
Women’s cross country led the way for the Fire, posting a 3.58 team grade point average. Women’s soccer (3.473), women’s golf (3.453), women’s outdoor track (3.451), and women’s tennis (3.435) rounded out the top five.
Cross country also had the highest men’s team GPA at 3.294 and was joined by tennis (3.21) on the list.
Women’s indoor track (3.408), softball (3.35), and volleyball (3.21) completed the honorees.
