LAKELAND, Fla.- The Southeastern University women’s soccer team swept The Sun Conference weekly honors yesterday. Senior forward Uchenna Kanu was named TSC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while graduate center back Isamar Duran earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Kanu excelled in a pair of impressive victories against NAIA-ranked or receiving votes opponents. Versus No. 15 Grace, Kanu netted a goal and registered an assist. On the road versus RV Truett McConnell, the Abia, Nigeria native notched her first hat trick of the season and the 21st of her collegiate career. Kanu has now won 15 TSC Offensive Player of the Week awards throughout her time at SEU.

Duran anchored an SEU back line that shut out a No. 15 Grace side that had scored 15 goals through its four previous contests. Duran also got involved in the Fire offensive attack, assisting on a goal against Truett McConnell.  The Fire won both contests, topping Grace, 5-0, and Truett McConnell, 6-1.

The Fire return to Lakeland this Saturday for a match at the SEU Soccer Complex against the Brewton-Parker College Barons. Match time is set for 7:30 p.m.
