MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan football added to their 2019 success with the naming of the program’s first NAIA/AFCA All-American wide receiver, Brayden Smith.
“It is exciting for our program to have Brayden recognized as one of the elite players in the country!” said head coach Jordan Langs. “Brayden has been a special player and a great representative of our culture from the day he arrived on campus, and this award is very well deserved. The future for Brayden as a player and person is extremely bright.”
In ten games this season, Smith hauled in 63 catches totaling 769 yards. Smith found the end zone on 12 occasions, five more than he did in 2018.
In addition to Smith’s award, the Wildcats collected seven MFSA Mid-East selections in 2019. IWU finished the 2019 season with a record of 6-4 and the program’s first Top-25 win over Siena Heights, 28-21.
