Southern Indiana, Bellarmine Pick Up GLVC Baseball Weekly Honors
INDIANAPOLIS – University of Southern Indiana senior outfielder Buddy Johnson and Bellarmine University senior left-hander Eddie Mathis have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in baseball, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday.
BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Team Results: L 7-8, L 8-10 vs. Illinois Springfield (3/26); W 34-9, W 7-0 (3/30); W 6-5 (9 inn.), W 10-0 vs. UW-Parkside (3/31)
- Hit .520 (13-for-25) over six games with six doubles, 10 runs scored, 11 RBI, three walks and three stolen bases
- Reached base safely with at least one hit in all six games
- Registered 19 total bases and a .760 slugging percentage
- Shined in first game of UW-Parkside series, in which he went 7-for-8 with four doubles, six runs scored and 10 RBI.
- In that game, he set USI single-game records in hits, doubles and runs batted in
- Followed up the effort with a 2-for-3 outing Friday, in which he doubled and scored two runs
- Earns first career Player of the Week award
