Steffens Named Daktronics Scholar-Athlete

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Southeastern University junior Phil Steffens was among 179 NAIA Division II men’s basketball players selected to the Daktronics Scholar-Athlete team.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have three years of college complete with at least two semesters at their present institution and hold a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

Steffens holds a 3.8 GPA as a PE and Coaching major.

The Gladback, Germany native helped the Fire to a 20-10 record and a second consecutive trip to the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament.
