Taylor Drops League Opener to No. 12 Spring Arbor

 

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The 12th-ranked Cougars gained an edge late in the first half and never relented, handing a 2-0 loss to the visiting Trojans in their first Crossroads League bout of 2019.

 

The initial 41 minutes of action went by evenly between Spring Arbor (6-1-1, 1-0-0 CL) and Taylor (4-4-2, 0-1-0 CL). In that time, Luke Williams produced three saves to keep the host squad off the scoreboard.

 

Spring Arbor recorded its first goal of the match with just over three minutes left in the first half. On the night, the Cougars dominated on the pitch, blasting 19 shots and five corner kicks.

 

Williams picked up another two saves in the second half, extending his season total to 51.

 

TU will return to action on Saturday, taking on Bethel (4-4-1, 1-0-0 CL) on the road at 7:00 pm.
