Taylor Softball Picks Up Five NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards

UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor University softball team claimed five Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors recently, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

In order to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status at their current institution.

Hannah Castor, Olivia Hostetler, Cassie Kuizin, Courtney Moriarty and Andi Stewart were among the 466 softball student-athletes from around the nation to be named as 2018 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and were five of the 37 student-athletes from the Crossroads League to be recognized.

The Trojans closed the season at 32-15 overall, received votes in the NAIA Top-25 Poll multiple times and defeated two Top-25 opponents.
