TU Struggles in Losses to Visiting Knights

 

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor never led in Friday’s doubleheader against Marian at Winterholter Field, as the Trojans struggled in all phases while dropping 12-3 and 8-1 contests to the Knights.

 

Taylor was outhit 10-5 in the opener, with the lone highlights coming via a two-run home run from Nick Rusche and a long double off the bat of Kade Vander Molen. Drew Kindy tossed a pair of scoreless innings in relief.

 

The nightcap saw TU muster only three hits over seven innings. Vander Molen and Matt Dutkowski each doubled for the Trojans, with Cy Stanley fanning four over two strong innings out of the pen.

 

RV Taylor (33-18, 22-12 CL) and Marian (24-24, 17-17 CL) will close the regular season on Saturday with a 1:00 pm doubleheader.
