Taylor Volleyball Sweeps Past Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. – Five different Trojans had at least seven kills in a sweep at Goshen for the Taylor volleyball team, as TU cruised to the 25-19, 25-20, 25-18 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Taylor snapped a five-game skid with the sweep of Goshen (6-14, 1-8 CL) dispatching the Leafs with ease by slamming 46 kills to just 13 errors for a crisp .330 clip. TU was nearly unstoppable in the first two sets, hitting .353 and .484 to take control.

Grace Isaacs paced the Trojans with 11 kills in 17 swings, while Kacy Bragg and Ryan Czerniak both turned in eight kills and Julia Pomerenke and Amanda Adams posted seven.

Nikki Parrett shredded Goshen with four aces, while Erin Peugh and Abby DeSimpelare teamed for 27 digs.

Taylor (13-12, 4-5 CL) will begin the second round of Crossroads League play on Tuesday, October 2, when it hosts Spring Arbor (4-10, 0-9 CL) in a 7:00 pm match. TU topped SAU in four sets in the first meeting on September 13.
