HOT OFF THE PRESS

East Central’s Nathan McFee connected on the game-winning 22-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Trojans to a 24-21 victory against Indianapolis Roncalli in the Class 4A southern semistate final.

Earning their first semistate titles were Carroll (Fort Wayne) and Whiteland.

Adams Central is 14-0 for the first time in program history.

Carroll (Fort Wayne) is 13-0 for the first time in program history.

Luke Hansen is Indianapolis Roncalli’s all-time leading rusher. The talented senior broke Joe Gillum’s previous mark of 4,275 yards set 1983 and 1985. Hansen closed his career with 4,631 yards.

Zach Whittaker is the new football coach at Triton, replacing Rodney Younis, who stepped down after going 57-107 over 15 seasons in two different stints (2002-2012 and 2019-2022). Whittaker served as the Trojans’ defensive coordinator last season.

Luke Messmer has decided to step down at Mount Vernon (Posey) after compiling an 18-10 record over three years with the Wildcats.

Corydon Central will have a new face on the sidelines as Aaron Humphrey ended his six-year run with the Panthers with a 15-44 mark.

Hammond Bishop Noll is looking for a new leader after Wayne Racine ended his five-year run with the Warriors with a 2-36 record.

Christel House Manual’s John Prater has resigned after compiling a 6-18 mark over three seasons with the Eagles.

Blair Thompson has ended his three-year stint at Salem with a 15-14 record.
