Kansas City, Mo. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recently announced their Daktronics Men’s and Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes. Holy Cross College had 13 soccer players receive this prestigious honor.
In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at the institution.
Men’s soccer had four student-athletes receive this distinction. Junior Gabe Nyenka and sophomores Achimed Sabu, David Ross, and Martin Von Thun were named 2022 Daktronics NAIA Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes.
The women’s soccer team had nine players awarded this honor. Seniors Lauren Cernak and Kathleen Ming were named 2022 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes. Juniors Rachel Gomez, Taelyn Hendrickson, Morgan Maggine, and Ashley McDonald earned this distinction, while sophomores Brynn Dauby, Jennifer Requeno, and Katherine West were awarded.
