Titans Prep for Road Test at IU Northwest Before Hosting Trojans Saturday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The No. 20 Indiana University South Bend women’s basketball aims to garner a pair of wins this week, traveling to Indiana University Northwest on Wednesday, Jan 29. before hosting Trinity International University on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. inside the Student Activities Center.

The Titans enter the week at 19-3 overall and 11-3 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference after its 12-game winning streak came to an end against No. 8 St. Francis (Ill.) on Wednesday, Jan. 22 by a score of 69-42. IUSB dropped its second match of the week on Saturday, fallng 66-60 at Robert Morris.
The Titans defeated the RedHawks 63-46 earlier this season inside the Student Activities Center on Dec. 7. With the victory, IUSB earned the slight 10-8 series advantage but are just 3-7 in Gary, Ind.
Saturday’s contest will be the 18th meeting all-time between the Trojans (12-10, 6-8 CCAC) and the Titans. IUSB is 13-4 overall against TIU, including a nine-game winning streak.
As a team, the Titans shoot 45.0 from the field which is good for first amongst all CCAC opponents. Freshman Maddie Gard leads the scoring with 11.4 points per game while Kyleigh Kubik adds 11.1 ppg. Sophomore Rachael Robards leads on the glass with 4.4 rebounds per game.
As a team, IU South Bend averages 73.1 points but during the two-game losing skid the Titans have been held to just 51 points per game and have shot 33.6 percent from the floor. From behind the arc, IUSB has gone 9-for-41 in the last 80 minutes of play which is just a 22 percent clip.
