ROSEMONT, Ill. – Emily Cave and Emily Anglin each recorded a team-high three base hits on Thursday night, but IU South Bend were unable to stop the Roosevelt offense, as the Lakers took a doubleheader sweep over IUSB, 10-2 in game one, and 13-5 in game two, each in run-rule shortened games.

The Titans (13-17, 4-4 CCAC) fell behind early in the opening game, as a four-run rally on four base hits in the bottom of the 2nd gave Roosevelt a 4-0 advantage. The Lakers (9-8, 2-1 CCAC) had a pair of extra-base hits in the 3rd, leading to two more runs before IU South Bend responded in the top of the 4th. Doubles from Cave and Anglin gave the Titans the first run of the game, and Maddie Leisher would later score on a throwing error to make it a 6-2 game. With bases loaded and just one out however, IU South Bend were unable to extend the rally.

The Lakers would end the game early with four runs in the bottom of the 5th, with a two-run double finishing the game on run rule.

Anglin and Cave each finished 2-for-3 with a double in the game.

The Titans took a 1st inning lead in game two, after a leadoff double from Leisher leading to a score on a fielding error later in the frame. Roosevelt came back to take a 2-1 lead in the 2nd inning, but another Leisher double in the 3rd led to a game-tying RBI single for Anglin.

Roosevelt reclaimed the lead with a sac fly in the bottom of the 3rd, but the Titans would rally again with an RBI double from Jozie Raymer and a two-run single from Cave for a 5-3 lead.

A leadoff triple for the Lakers in the 4th led to a run, and the home team would add three more in the 5th to take the lead. Roosevelt closed out the game early with six runs in the 6th to earn the sweep.

Leisher finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored to lead the IUSB offense in game two. Emily Cave collected two RBI in the nightcap.

The Titans now prepare for a doubleheader at Judson on Saturday afternoon, before returning to Dick Pfeil Field for a Senior Day matchup with Lincoln on Sunday. First pitch from Elgin is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
