Titans VB win crosstown showdown with Pilots

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After falling behind 1-0 in its season opener, the Indiana University South Bend volleyball team settled in and won three straight sets to defeat crosstown rival Bethel College on Tuesday night in front of a loud crowd.

  • Sarah Allison (SR/Mishawaka, Indiana) notched a game-high 15 kills with four errors in 35 total attempts (.343)
  • Freshman McKenzie Powell (FR/Rolling Prairie, Indiana) dished out a team-high 23 assists in her debut while fellow freshman Courtney Lengacher (FR/Wakarusa, Indiana) added 19 assists to go with a team-high three service aces.
  • Robbie Berg (JR/Montague, Michigan) registered 13 digs to go along with 10 kills in the win.
  • The Titans defense denied tallied 11 blocks.

WHAT’S NEXT?

The Titans will return to action this weekend as they travel to Lourdes University for the Gray Wolf Invitational. Friday the Titans will battle the College of Coastal Georgia and will wrap up tournament action on Saturday against Lourdes and Taylor University.
