BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Indiana University South Bend volleyball team opened up Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Tuesday night at Olivet Nazarene University. For the second time in as many matches, the Titans fell 3-0 (14-25, 18-25, 20-25) to move to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in CCAC action.

An early 8-2 run by the Tigers in the opening set caused the Titans to call a timeout to stop ONU’s momentum. IU South Bend got within four points but could not stop the Tiger attack.

An Ashley McClintock (SR/Westville, Indiana) evened the second set at nine points apiece but a combination of Titan miscues Tiger offense resulted in a 25-18 loss in the middle set. McClintock finished with a team-high nine kills.

IU South Bend hung around early in the third set but a 6-0 ONU run put the Titans in an early hole. Late in the set the Titans pulled within a point of the Tigers lead but did not have enough to take the lead and force a fourth set.

Thursday the Titans will continue CCAC action as they play host to the University of St. Francis. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
