SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend women’s basketball outscored Northwestern Ohio 21-10 in the fourth quarter, boosting itself past the Racers 65-56 on Saturday afternoon inside the Student Activities Center. With the win, the Titans improve to a perfect 3-0 overall with a 2-0 record in South Bend.
Senior Kylie Fehrman scored a season-high 16 points off 7-of-11 shooting, including two three-pointers. Senior counterpart Kylie Kubik was the final Titan in double-figures with 10 and has now scored in double-figures in two of the IUSB three games this season.
Junior Taitlyn Trenshaw performed well all-around with nine points, four rebounds and a game-high five assists while freshman Maddie Gard added nine points, four offensive rebounds and one assist.
As a team IUSB for the game shot 46.4 percent from the field including a staggering 81.8 percent in the final ten minutes. The Titans had 11 turnovers to UNOH’s 26 with IUSB scoring 35 off turnovers. IUSB dominated in the paint scoring 30 points to the Racer’s 16. Off the bench the Crimson & Cream scored 26 points, improving its record to 3-0 when scoring over 20 points off the bench.
The Titans return to action next week for three games, beginning with a contest in Sylvania, Ohio as the Titans face Lourdes University on Tuesday, Nov. 5. IUSB returns home Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9 to host Huntington and No. 22 Michigan-Dearborn.
